Team Name Explanation

4LPH4 1337 (pronounced \`al-fə lēt\) comes from Leetspeak. Since the majority of our members work in the computer industry, we thought the name was 1337, so it stuck.

The English translation is thus "Alpha Elite".

Fast Fact: We had changed it from the original spelling, 4LP|-|4 1337, when we decided to build a team website (pipe characters are not allowed in URLs).

The first part, 4LPH4 (Alpha), comes from the fact that most of our members are alpha-[fe]males and live or have lived in Alpharetta, GA. Further, Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and we strive to be first.
